National Flag of the Russian Federation

Day of the National Flag of the Russian Federation – is one of the officially established holidays in Russia, declared in 1994 by decree of the President of the Russian Federation Boris Yeltsin and is celebrated on August 22. However, it is a working day not a public holiday.

The date of this holiday is associated with the events of the 1991 August coup when protesters carried a huge white-blue-red flag, and the President of the Russian Federation Boris Yeltsin announced the establishment of the new National Flag of Russia.

Kolomenskoe Estate

Kolomenskoe Estate

A new exhibition “From the Museum’s Treasures … New Arrivals” was opened on 03 August 2012 at Kolomenskoe Estate and will run until November 2012. The exhibition features palace furniture, porcelain, bronze, costumes, paintings and drawings from XVIII-XX centuries. It consists of three sections and occupies two floors of exhibition halls.

An interactive exhibition catalogue will help visitors to tour the exhibition using a touchpad. The system also contains a brief story about each exhibit, where it comes from, its history and cultural value.
